The eight Larnaca district Green Points, from the rebuilt town site in Makenzie to Kofinou and Anafotida: map pins, summer and winter hours, what they accept, and the May 2026 rule on renovation waste and two visits a day.

Larnaca's Green Points at a glance
Checked: November 2026, against the pages of ΕΟΑ Λάρνακας.
Larnaca district has eight Green Points, all run by the district self-government body, ΕΟΑ Λάρνακας (EOAL). Seven are in the villages and suburbs. The eighth is the rebuilt town site in Makenzie, which EOAL took over on 15 September 2026. Drop-off is free for household waste.
Two rules changed in 2026. Since 18 May the Green Points no longer accept large loads from renovations, and visits are limited to two a day. Both are explained below.
The Larnaca town Green Point (Makenzie)
The town site is on Vasili Michaelidi Street, next to the Agios Lazaros technical school, in the Makenzie area. It used to be a temporary municipal yard; it was rebuilt and reopened under EOAL in September 2026.
It is closed on Mondays. For the other days the two official notices give different times: EOAL says Tuesday to Friday 07:00–17:00, Saturday 07:00–16:00 and Sunday 09:00–14:00, while the municipality's notice says Tuesday to Saturday 07:00–18:00 and Sunday 09:00–15:00. EOAL runs the site, so go by its hours, or ring its line on 24501000 first (EOAL announcement).
Under the municipality this yard did not take rubble. EOAL has not said whether that has changed, so ask before you bring tiles or plaster here.
The seven district sites, with hours
Where two times are given, the first is the summer timetable and the second the winter one. The map pins come from EOAL's own map.

Troulloi, Kofinou and Anafotida are open only two or three days a week, so check the day before you set off. EOAL lists the same phone number for Pyrga and Troulloi. The full timetable is on EOAL's Green Points page.
The May 2026 rule: no large renovation loads
On 18 May 2026 EOAL announced that its Green Points cannot accept or handle large quantities of waste from renovating homes, business premises or other buildings. The owners of those properties have to arrange skips for that waste, at their own cost. In the same notice, visits were limited to two a day (EOAL notice).
EOAL did not put a number on "large". The Green Points still list rubble and DIY waste, such as tiles and sanitary ware, among the things they accept, so a few sacks from a small household repair are still fine. A bathroom or kitchen stripped out, or several trips a day with the car full of rubble, is what the rule is aimed at.

The Green Points no longer take large renovation loads. Book a skip online for the day you need it.
Skip hire in LarnacaWhat they accept, and who can use them
EOAL's list has 25 categories: rubble and DIY waste, furniture, mattresses and carpets, appliances, garden prunings, wood, metal, paper, plastic, glass, aluminium, clothes, toys, paint and glue, cooking and engine oil, batteries, light bulbs, medicines, thermometers and X-ray films. Plasterboard is not counted as rubble (category list).
Only households are served. Professionals, companies, local authorities and organised groups cannot use the sites, and contractors may not bring excavation, construction or demolition waste. You bring the waste in your own vehicle, sorted, and follow the staff's directions.
Livadia, Oroklini, Kiti, Xylofagou: where to go
Several parts of the district have no Green Point of their own: Livadia, Oroklini, Kiti, Meneou, Lefkara, Xylofagou and Ormideia among them. From the town and the coast, Makenzie, Aradippou or Dromolaxia are the usual choices. New sites for Xylofagou–Ormideia and Xylotymbou are planned but not built.
All EOAL sites closed in late February 2026 as a foot-and-mouth precaution and reopened in stages from late March. If a site's status is unclear, EOAL's line, 24501000, answers around the clock.
When a skip is easier than several trips
For a broken washing machine, an old wardrobe or a car of prunings, the Green Point costs nothing and is close to most of the district. Larnaca is the one district where the authority itself sends renovation waste to skips.
A skip also makes sense for a house clear-out, where you would otherwise need many trips and the two-visit cap gets in the way, and when you have no car or only a small one.
In Larnaca a 6 m³ skip costs €180, with delivery, collection and disposal included. Rubble, furniture and garden waste can go in together, and the load goes to licensed facilities.
