Green Points in Paphos: Five Sites, Opening Days and the No-Pickup Rule
Paphos district has five Green Points: Mouttalos in town, Koloni, Peyia (Akoursos), Chrysochou near Polis and Agia Varvara. Which days each one opens, what they accept, what they refuse, and why you should come by car, not pickup.

Paphos's Green Points at a glance
Checked: November 2026, against the page of ΕΟΑ Πάφου.
Paphos district has five Green Points, run by the district self-government body, ΕΟΑ Πάφου: Mouttalos in Paphos town, Koloni, Peyia (Akoursos), Chrysochou near Polis and Agia Varvara. Drop-off is free for household waste (ΕΟΑ Πάφου page).
Two things set Paphos apart. Pickups and lorries are not allowed in, so you come by car. And the opening days differ from site to site: only two of the five open every weekday.
Where the five sites are
ΕΟΑ Πάφου has not published addresses or map pins yet; its page is marked as under construction. The descriptions below come from the Polis municipality page and the WEEE recycling scheme's list, and the three pins are the sites' positions on OpenStreetMap.
- Paphos (Mouttalos): Mithat Pasha Street (map). Some directories list it as the Chloraka Green Point.
- Koloni: on Archbishop Makarios Avenue, at the Koloni roundabout on the road out of Geroskipou (map)
- Peyia (Akoursos): on the road from Peyia to Akoursos
- Chrysochou: just outside Chrysochou village, near Polis (map)
- Agia Varvara: in the Agia Varvara industrial area, east of Paphos
For all five, the Green Points phone line of ΕΟΑ Πάφου is 26912154.
Opening days and hours
These are the hours ΕΟΑ Πάφου publishes. All sites close on Sundays and public holidays, and every site opens on Saturday morning.
- Paphos (Mouttalos) and Koloni: Monday to Friday 08:00–17:00, Saturday 08:00–13:00
- Peyia (Akoursos) and Chrysochou: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 08:00–17:00, closed Wednesday, Saturday 08:00–13:00
- Agia Varvara: Monday and Wednesday 08:00–17:00, Saturday 08:00–13:00
The Polis municipality's page shows slightly different times, closing at 16:00 on weekdays and, in winter, at 16:00 on Saturdays. When the two disagree, ring 26912154 before a long drive, especially for Agia Varvara, which opens only three days a week.
What you can bring
The ΕΟΑ list covers the usual household clear-out: furniture, mattresses, carpets and clothes, electrical appliances, garden prunings, wood, metal, paper and cardboard, plastics including bulky plastic items, glass, aluminium, toys, batteries and car batteries, light bulbs and fluorescent tubes, medicines, thermometers, cooking oil and paint.
Small amounts of building waste are on the list too: tiles and ceramics, bricks and concrete. Unlike Limassol and Nicosia, Paphos publishes no weight limit. The rule is that the quantities must clearly come from a household. Everything has to be sorted by type before it goes in.
Too much for the car?

Skip hire in PaphosWhat they refuse
Businesses, workshops and contractors are not accepted. The Polis municipality page also lists what no Paphos Green Point takes:
- Commercial waste
- Clinical waste, asbestos and plasterboard
- Kitchen and food waste
- Pesticides, petrol, diesel and other chemicals
- Car tyres, old or new
The same page says only water-based paint is accepted. On arrival a member of staff checks the load, fills in a form with your details and gives you a copy.
When a skip is easier than several trips
One wardrobe, one old fridge or a boot of hedge cuttings: take them to Mouttalos or Koloni, it is free. The car-only rule is what makes bigger jobs slow. Clearing a villa or a holiday flat between tenants, or a garden with years of growth, can mean many car loads, and on some sites only two or three days a week to do it.
Renovation rubble is the other case. Paphos takes bricks, tiles and concrete only in household amounts, and plasterboard not at all.
For those jobs we deliver a skip to your property. In Paphos a 6 m³ skip costs €200, with delivery, collection and disposal included. Around Polis we deliver too: see skip hire in Polis.
